Does anyone know what Softimage might be doing when it first starts up that
a Cintiq-like (Bosto) tablet would cause it to freeze?

For a while now everything has run fine, then suddenly yesterday whenever
the tablet is plugged in, Softimage starts up and just when you'd normally
see the camera view & grid, it just freezes.

I've checked the task manager & Softimage sits and uses 4-10% of the CPU
and slowly eats ram. It doesn't show "Not Responding" and it never
crashes. It just sits there - almost like a dialog box is hidden
off-screen and it's waiting for you to click "ok".

If I disconnect the tablet, it works fine.

I haven't installed anything new recently and other software isn't having
the same problems (though some are) - MOI3D, Lightwave & general purpose
apps work fine. Softimage & 3D-Coat both do the same thing - boot up, then
freeze.

I've tried all the usual stuff - uninstalled, re-installed, tried different
USB ports, etc. No luck.

Has anyone had something like this happen before?

Thanks,

Paul
