Hi Greg Particularly with undergrad students less is more. Also once they are finished the game design course they are far more likely to start out on Maya LT once they have finished their studies due to price. Maya Commercial in South Africa is very expensive due to a really crap $ and Euro exchange rate.
The will get the full packages if they stay for our post graduate courses though ;) From: Greg Maguire <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Reply-To: "[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>, "[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Date: Monday 02 September 2013 9:52 AM To: "[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Subject: Re: Maya LT in education The menus look pretty much the same to me. A few missing here and there. The entire entertainment collection is £150ish for the whole year with a £25/year maintenance. That includes Maya, Softimage, 3D Studio, Mudbox, & Motionbuilder. I can't see MayaLT Edu being much of a better deal than that. + why restrict your students anyway with an artificial ceiling? For one thing they are not overwhelmed by all the maya Menus as it has be pruned down to suit what is available for use in LT. So there is merit to using it even when you have access to the full version.
