That was also my impression when I played with the Beta just before Siggraph. 
Quite fast (the version I had was limited two cores), but still a bit bugy 
(sometimes hung when drawing a ender Region). Don't know how much it has 
evolved since then. What I also remember was that it would not render volume 
clouds correctly (e.g. the Comet demo scene that ships with Soft), they would 
always be very blocky as if it always used a very rough lookup table even when 
full raytracing was specified in the Volume shader. I don't know if that has 
been the case also with previous versions, I never tried that with an older 
version of 3Delight, or if it's specific to the new one. Other than that it 
looks pretty cool, and it's quite affordable too.
