IANL, but it seems to me that there are 2 workarounds that AD can do nothing to really enforce.
A. use a crack (you may be surprised that such things exist, but they do! ;-) ) B. use an older version of both Softimage and License Manager like, say, 2013 SAP, maybe even 2014. Smarter people than I can probably think of more.
