So, Autodesk, which owns nearly the entire 3D animation software market, has just decided to kill the best of the 3D animation apps it sells. http://www.autodesk.com/products/autodesk-softimage/overview Thousands of users are outraged. It was made nearly entirely with Softimage -- and now the company that made it will need to re-tool completely to use something else for the sequels. Some companies face massive re-training costs.
