Logical decision

Autodesk decision is easily explained.
Through acquisitions, the company was now the owner
of three competing software: Maya, 3ds Max and Softimage.* [by involontary consequence?]

*The latter has become the least popular of the three.* [by involontary consequence?]

Just Like the Jigsaw release "why kill off Softimage?"
not adressing the question that consequently begs to be asked; *Then Why Aquire? *
which would have revealed the glaringly obvious motive.

No kidding.. wonder why..

"The damage has been done by AVID.* [Avid's fault]
* Autodesk has continued for six years,
**but has never been able to reverse the sales curve.** "*

Which would have implied an actual intent to reverse it,
and while not actively / purposefully precipitating it.

While eagerly anticipating what will supercede XSI in terms of overall efficiency,
(we can already feel the rush to fill a void)
.. I truly wonder what that will be, we can only speculate.

In the mean time, I'm personally anxious to see what'll show up at Softimage.tv until then . . .

anyone wonder why?

*cough*

because immediately upon acquisition half left and half were moved to Maya / Games / or wherever but most definitely Away from Softimage.

poor, poor Adsk tried so hard. Marc petit has invested in Fabric Engine right..? I do not understand his motivations right here with this bullshit lets rewrite history propoganda. I remember tweeting to him a few years ago about the sorry state of Softimage and the lack of any effort by Adsk to help it and his reply..

"Softimage is in good hands"
