Hi Tim,

Yes - changes to the project image output path apply at the project level 
(wherever the workspace.mel is).  Not ideal for breaking out shots from a 
project, but you can do the following:

-Use the <Scene> token with backslashes in the render settings  to create 
sub-folders (eg. <Scene>\<Scene>_<Render_Layer>_<Camera>)

-Use the -rd flag on render.exe to force a render to any folder

So lemme get this straight... Maya's equivalent of XSI's 'Scene Output' path is 
actually stored at the project level? If I set this path using 'Change Primary 
Image Directory' and setting the Images output path, does this not get passed 
on to other scenes in the same project? Or is it changed strictly for the scene 
I'm in?
