It does however render if you just do a render current frame . It also renders fine if it s connected to the same network and the network server. Driving me insane. Ill get the lecturer to send me the log file. It specially states it can’t get a license when you try and batch render. (or render from the command line) This is with the network cable unplugged to simulate being home. A Maya license no longer has licenses for subfeatures, it's just the Maya license and five MayaBatch licenses.
