can't very realistically uninstall then reinstall, or have a dedicated machine just to see if a given problem is related to a specific version.

.. and thus leaving people in doubt every time there is an issue.

But what if a 2015  .reg was saved-out from the registry and the 2015 folder copied someplace else,
then uninstall, install SP1, then also save a .reg,  would that be a way to relatively easily switch between or "restore" versions?

If I'm not mistaken, If the the seperate install is considered important, I think it has to do with when there are issues , it can be important to see if it's a version related thing or not (not so rare), especially for fresh new updates (risky).  And people can not very realistically uninstall then reinstall, or have a dedicated machine just to see if a given problem is related to a specific version.

But what happens when you install in a sepearate dir, the other install just wont run?, or it wont install at all?

Perhaps there could be a "trick"?
