yeah sort of works, i can use this, but it would be better to be able to
extrude curves..... then i can keep it live and change the word/font

without screwing up the extrusion

 

i bet Houdini could do it

Seems to work better if you select the polys of the mesh and extrude rather
than just selecting the mesh and extruding...
