OK Thanks guys. Well for me, I know very little about Houdini, other than
just getting my head around the interface.
With Ice, I can load a demo fireworks scene, dive into the ICE tree, and
figure out how the fireworks are created. It's very straight forwards as
you have an emitter node, forces etc etc. You can clearly see what nodes
are doing what.
In Houdini however, I loaded the default fireworks, had a look inside and
could not figure out what was going on. So there are clearly some
fundamental differences there that could do with explaining. It might be
that the fireworks isn't a good example?
