Hey, Yes there is of course lots of ways of doing the same thing in Houdini and this is just one of them. I haven't found sop solvers that slow with simple operations like this, but then I also usually work with crowds/flocks etc so I rarely exceed a million packed prims. It will be interesting to know the speed difference though so I think I'll actually set up a benchmark test later.
