Hi Bill,

The SoftRock Lite kits are sold out and the kit is now retired.

The Lite+Xtall vf8.3 SDR receive kit is now available at a price of $26 for the
kit. The kit includes four BPF modules for the band
groups 160m, 80m/40m, 30m/30m/17m, and 15m/12m/10m. Not include at this date
in the kit is the Si570 device, that provides
the LO for each of the selected bands. (The Si570 device may be purchased
through Tom, [EMAIL PROTECTED])

The SoftRock RXTXv6.2 SDR transceiver kits are still available as listed below.

Band coverage for the one watt RXTXv6.2 family of SDR transceiver kits depends
on the sampling rate of the soundcard used with the transceiver. With
48 kHz sampling the band coverage is slightly over +/- 21 kHz each side of
each center frequency. If the soundcard can sample at 96 kHz the band
coverage is about twice as great each side of each center frequency.

The 40m/30m RXTXv6.2 transceiver kit comes with three crystals to give
center frequencies of about 10.124 MHz, 7.014 MHz and 7.056 MHz. The kit
price is $31 for US/Canada and $32 for DX. Mailing costs are included
in the kit price.

The 40m/80m RXTXv6.2 kit has 40m center frequencies of about 7.014 MHz
and 7.055 MHz. The 80m center frequencies are about 3.507 MHz and 3.527
MHz. Kit price for the 40m/80m RXTXv6.2 kit is $30 for US or Canada and $31
for DX where postage costs are included in the kit prices.

The 80m RXTXv6.2 kit at $30 for US/Canada and $31 for DX includes
crystals to give center frequencies of 3.514 MHz, 3.549 MHz and 3.579 MHz
for band coverage from 3.50 MHz to slightly above 3.60 MHz.

The 160m RXTXv6.2 kit at a price of $30 for US/Canada
and $31 for DX. Center frequencies provided in that kit will include 1.812
MHz, 1.843 MHz and 1.919 MHz.

The 20m/30m RXTXv6.2 kit is $38 for US/Canada and $39 for DX. The
kit includes a small daughter overtone oscillator kit to get center
frequencies of about 14.050 MHz and 10.124 MHz.

The 15m/17m RXTXv6.2 kit is $38 for US/Canada and $39 for DX. The
kit includes a small daughter overtone oscillator kit to get center
frequencies of about 21.16 MHz and 21.05 MHz.

The 10m/12m RXTXv6.2 kit is $35 for US/Canada and $36 for DX. The
kit includes a small daughter overtone oscillator kit but does not include
crystals for either band. (ICM is one possible source for suitable overtone
crystals for the 10m or 12m bands.)

The XTALLv1.1 kit at $12 US/Canada and $13 for DX may also be used as a
oscillator source for the RXTXv6.2 transceivers. The CMOS Si570 used with the
XTALL
kit is not included with the kit and may be purchased through Tom,
[EMAIL PROTECTED] . The XTALL board provides 16 DIP switch selected
center frequencies. (Code is not being tested to expand the XTALL center
frequency selection to 40 center frequencies.)

The software may be download at no cost with a number of programs available

Subject: [softrock40] What Softrock items are avail and cost?

  Tony,

I have developed an interest in SDR and would like to get a Softrock
kit. Probably a 40 meter Lite series (I think they are around
$10). Could you point me to where I could order one?

I tried the Softrockradio.org site, found lots of info, but no real
listing with prices. Also, could not find how to join, lots of
places to login, but nowhere to signup?

I have downloaded Rocky 4.0 and also am looking for some "I/O" files
  to test it with.

I am the newsletter editor for the Williamsburg Area Amateur Radio
Club (Short Circuit) and also write a section on Building Stuff each
  month.

I would appreciate any help you might be.

  Thanks for your time....
