Another way to customise Tom's hex may be to get the data fron Dick's Excel VBS 3.0 in Files/K9IVB-Si570. Dick says it will run in earlier versions of Excel but I have only got this to run in Excel 2007 so far. But it will open in Open Office or Excel 2000 and even if you cannot get it to run it will give a list of all the default values every 20KHz on all of the amateur bands. If you can run Dick's program it will calculate the registers for any frequency (up to 400MHz?) and these may be put in Tom's hex after it has been run once. Read the startup registers from the PIC after it has been run. I THINK that Tom's hex could be edited before programming the PIC using the default values from Dick's program or any of the others. Then Tom's clever program will adjust these to suit your Si570 when it is first run. I have NOT tried this. 73 Alan G4ZFQ
