Hi All

Vista is causing me and a few other amateurs in this locale a lot of
issues.

Rocky will not work. It will not find the sound card on installation
or when the script file points to the sound card. It will not close
down correctly and has to be "crashed out". And has caused one local
amateur to reinstall his operating system to eradicate all the
problems remaining after uninstalling Rocky.

Question: Has anybody resolved the Vista issue or is it a No No
operating system for future Amateur use?

M0KGK (My favourite SDR software) has issues it will not close down
correctly plus other instability I have yet to fully understand.

WinRad is the best to date but although it works well there are
issues on start up with erroneous windows messages. It appears to
close OK. Find the sound card and Virtual Audio Cable at will which
is nice.

Flex SDR software is a an issue on Vista I have yet to make it run
well enough to actually use it sensibly it wasn't that good on Win XP
either

Whilst I understand none of this software was written for Vista I was
always under the impression that M$ was supposed to make its new OS
backwards compatible and we are only talking one OS issue back.

May be its time for me to learn Linux and get involved in SDR
software and not rely on the ingenuity of others and their generosity.
Comments would appreciate.
