Senior QA Software Engineer Position Overview This position requires the ability to plan testing, design and build test cases and procedures, and execute running of test cases and procedures through hands on testing, both manual and automated. It’s expected that the Senior Software QA Engineer will set a high testing standard for their assigned project/work and be mostly self-managing in the execution of this work. Position Responsibilities •Develops, designs, plans and scripts testing scenarios that provide thorough feature and regression testing for applications slated for release into the production environment. •Execute test scripts, both manual and automated, as assigned. •Ability to create automated test scripts, preferably working with an open source java framework. •Flexible work schedule to meet offshore communication time frames (i.e.; early morning and/or late evening Eastern Time) as necessary. •Provides application development teams with test results and follows through relative to the correction of issues. •A sense of urgency in delivering solutions. •Work intensively with Project Managers, development managers and Outsourced Teams coordinating testing efforts. •Responsible for input to, or creation of test plans. •Providing product expertise to the development team and the offshore test partner. Required Skills & Experience •3-5 years of Software Quality Assurance experience. •Experience working with Java, JavaScript, XML and SQL Server. •Ability to create automated test scripts in java. •Excellent software trouble shooting skills. •Knowledge of testing methods and the different software development methodologies. •Detail oriented. •Excellent problem-solving and analytic skills. •Able to work without close supervision. •Commitment to working within, and being a highly productive member of a team. •Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills. •Technical Knowledge of Web architected solutions. •Experience with IIS, Tomcat, or other web application servers. •Direct experience with enterprise product testing, including managing multiple concurrent releases. •Working with a development teams using an iterative development methodology. •Experience with both back-end and GUI front-end testing. •Working knowledge of Perl, Python, Ruby, or similar scripting language. Education and Certifications •B.S./B.A. in Computer Science / Engineering and/or Mathematics.
