Software Engineer-Test: Position Description: • With minimal supervision, analyze, design, build, code, and implement test methods and tools to support integration and testing of equipment into final deliverable. Adheres to company policy, preferred engineering practices, procedures, processes and safety/security requirements. • Provide regression testing for new hardware or software versions. • Provide sound test engineering disciplines, with a detail oriented approach, for test development, test support, test process, and all associated test engineering and production test aspects. • Create test development strategies from analysis of sub system design and customer specifications. • Ensure that equipment designs are rugged, repeatable, reliable and are targeted to meet or exceed our customer's expectations. • Work with designers to include testability into products. • Perform and/or support problem debug, analysis, and resolution of all items found during testing. • Support environmental and field testing. • Maintain all required Test documentation. • Analyze report results and applies available information and knowledge to correct identified problem. • Document all actions and results with immediate peers and Business Unit Engineering and/or Support personnel. • Write technical reports, as required, for internal and customer use. Basic Requirements: • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline related to software development. • Must have minimum of 5 years of experience working in a developmental test engineering environment. • Must have experience working with Microsoft Office applications, Word and Excel. • Must have experience with developing code in C and/or LabVIEW, and scripting through a CLI. • Must have experience with low level code such as BIT, drivers, and OS support packages. • Experience with LabWindows CVI a plus. • Experience testing a wireless communication system from concept to production a plus. Field testing of these systems also a plus. • Should be detail-oriented and be experienced in problem-solving and permanently fixing process problems. • Should have understanding of TCP/IP protocols. • Must have good interpersonal/communication skills, work well independently and work effectively in a team environment.
