Software QA Engineer Responsibilities will include writing test plans, developing automation tools and automated system and unit tests, executing tests, tracking down problems, posting detailed bugs, as well as the installation of multiple hardware and software configurations, racking systems, installing boards and setting up switches. Required Skills You must have demonstrated the ability to develop effective test environments for complex applications, using a combination of custom- developed tests, external test suites, user applications, etc. Good communication skills are important to ensure that current quality of product is successfully communicated to engineers and management. You must have the initiative and skills to investigate the source of problems, including stack traces and definition of the environment, before posting an appropriately detailed and highly informative bug. You must be very detail oriented, thorough and committed to the highest standards of product quality. Knowledge of Windows and open source applications is mandatory. Proficiency in C/C++, and scripting languages such as Perl, Python or TCL is also required. A BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years experience is expected, with at least 1-2 years concentrated experience relevant to software test is required. Experience working with Windows device drivers is a must. The ideal candidate will have some work experience as a developer or a software support role on a complex software project.
