Software Test Engineer Duties: • The candidate will participate in the design and development of software test plans, test estimates, and test cases for testing rich client and web client applications using current Java technologies. • The candidate will be involved with or contribute to design walkthroughs, specification reviews, functional specifications, and technical reviews to derive test objectives, create test plans, provide test estimates, build test cases, and implement test suites. • The candidate will perform functional, usability, coverage, integration, and regression test validation of software applications. • The candidate will provide reports to management and internal customers detailing test design, test execution progress, and detailed test results analyses. • The candidate will work in a team, interact with internal customers and participate in an Agile environment. Qualifications: Required Skills: • BS in Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent experience. • Relational database experience (prefer Oracle) including SQL script experience. • Solid testing methodologies, good project management skills, strong oral and written communications. • Ability to analyze requirements, functional specification, user-interface mockups, design documents, and the software itself in order to derive the test objectives. • Proficient with software testing concepts and best practices. • Detail oriented with attention to process. • Understanding of software development lifecycle and process methodologies. • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and task assignments with ease. Preferred Skills: • 3+ years of professional software testing. • 1+ years of Oracle database experience. • Experience with testing software written in the Java language. • Familiarity with clinical laboratory processes.
