Software QA Analyst I FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: 1. Provide testing support of web based and mainframe applications through a variety of test methods and post-implementation verification of print products, system changes, and application comparison. 2. Create and maintain test matrices, test plans, and testing status reports to validate and verify that all products and system changes conform to established system standards and business requirements. 3. Perform black box, functional, system, integration, positive/ negative, and manual testing. 4. Report and manage defects using a defect-tracking tool. 5. Provide assistance in ensuring system functionality adherence to filed eligibility rules and guidelines established by the Department of Insurance. 6. Assist in the development and maintenance of communication processes and procedures regarding testing status of rate revisions, system requests, projects, production issues, and customer inquiries. 7. Provide the necessary documentation and reporting to track and record the status of testing. Maintain test results spreadsheet to monitor testing progress. Provide the necessary documentation and reports to monitor and document the state of testing items. 8. Ability to facilitate and initiate communication across multiple teams. 9. Serve as a mentor to QA testers by reviewing and monitoring test matrices developed and maintained by QA testers and training/guiding less experience team. 10. Assist in the development and maintenance of QA procedures, processes, and quality standards. 11. Possess a strong understanding of functional and requirements testing and QA methodologies 12. Ability to evaluate and analyze test results and identify areas for regression testing. 13. Participate in the SDLC from planning to post verification. 14. Must be highly motivated, result-oriented, and possess the ability to handle multiple projects with multiple deadlines concurrently with minimal supervision. QUALIFICATIONS: Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Three+ years of experience preferred. Experience must be in QA testing, alternate information technology experience may be considered. Working towards CSTP or CSTE preferred. Successful completion of 2 QA training courses required. Must have good communication and mathematical skills. Good organizational skills and problem solving ability required. A willingness to further insurance and quality assurance knowledge through continued education as necessary. Preferred software experience includes Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, SQL query, .asp, .NET, VB6, C#, XML.
