Software QA Engineer Duties for this position include, but are not limited to: - Test and report hardware, software [including embedded firmware] and Wi-Fi driver bugs in a detailed, timely manner - Provide Engineering team with analysis of uncovered software and embedded firmware defects - Write test cases and test plans around well-defined functional areas, based upon Functional Specification Documents and Firmware / Software Engineering input - Utilize commercially available tools such as wireless packet sniffers and network protocol analyzers to help determine root cause and provide debugging information to engineers - Develop test automation scripts and maintain/expand such systems to offload mundane / routine testing to machines Candidates are expected to be self motivated members of a fast-paced team; they must work well under time pressure and stress. Candidates must be inventive and focused in their approach to work and solving problems within project deadlines. The ideal candidate will be able to prioritize time and assigned projects effectively with a minimum of intervention or supervision. BS preferred, with at least 4 years of experience testing embedded and GUI applications. Must be proficient at analyzing packet traces (Ethernet and Wireless). Must have some exposure to automation and scripting (PERL, Tcl, UN*X shell).
