QA Software Tester / QA Software Tester Senior Job description The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst provides automated testing services for the business systems using automated testing software such as (Loadrunner, HP Qualitycenter, Quicktest PRO, etc.). This position works under minimal guidance from the Team Lead and or Management. The position works with internal business users and IT groups to develop and maintain test plans, design automated testing solutions, and execute automated tests associated to testing requirements. In addition, the Senior QA Analyst provides consulting to internal customers and IT staff regarding industry standard testing methods, practices and trends, as well as technical software installation/support . Minimum Education/Experience Requirements Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent related experience and 3-4 yrs software testing experience. Other Requirements Must have deep knowledge of the QA process, from the inception of a project through the full operational status. Must be able to develop complete test plans starting from the Project Scope, Business Requirements and/or Functional Design documents and execute those plans successfully. Must be able to discover software bugs, determine what is and is not acceptable to all new software applications, and to determine 'what's missing' based on the functional business specifications. Must have a good 'test to break' attitude, an ability to take the point of view of our external customers, a strong desire for quality, and an peculiar attention to detail. Tact and diplomacy are useful in maintaining a cooperative relationship with our customers, programmers and developers. Ability to communicate with both technical (developers) and nontechnical (customers, management) staff is a requirement. Previous software development experience is helpful as it provides a deeper understanding of the software development process, gives the tester an appreciation for the developers' point of view, and reduce the learning curve in automated test tool programming. Good judgement skills are needed to assess high-risk areas of an application on which to focus testing efforts when time is limited.
