software QA tester Duties and Responsibilities: · Develop and execute test cases and plans for Functional, Performance and Regression project testing needs. · Provide clear leadership to assigned test resources on schedules, tasks and deliverables. · Communicate effectively to ensure that all testing coverage is being addressed to ensure WDS products meet or exceed performance targets. · Effectively and accurately document all SQA results and concerns as well as communicate to the SQA Manager and proactively work to resolve any issues. · Participate in planning all testing activities accordingly to ensure on time deliverables are met · Must have excellent knowledge of good test design process and the product design & development life cycle. · This role must be able to multi-task and excel in a fast paced on- time deliverable environment. · Oversee the development of test automation to ensure it is efficient & scalable ~ also verifying that it meets the WDS business need for this coverage. · Must have experience writing test plans that cover the entire development cycle. · Experience with software testing industry standards and best practices including Agile & Test Driven Development. · Personality that is fairly aggressive and flexible in getting the job done without a lot of direction. · Daily responsibilities include documentation review and approval, daily and weekly status reports as needed, new feature testing, regression testing, and extending the existing automation systems to support growing business needs for project testing. · Must manage, schedule, and coordinate SQA activities and resources. Experience/Qualifications/Education we are seeking: · The candidate will bring 5+ years of strong QA testing experience with a thorough knowledge of software development life cycle principles and QA methodologies. · Additional experience with: UML, test & release automation, configuration management tools, and .NET environments would be plusses, but not requirements. · Familiar with a central repository process for shared code and project documentation. · Significant knowledge of web application framework, relevant workflow and dependences. · Experience utilizing test harness tools and scheduling SQL data scripts. · Understanding Microsoft SQL data queries and validation. · While this position technically does not have supervisory responsibilities, as a senior member of the SQA Team, the incumbent will utilize their leadership, experience and testing expertise to provide communication and coordination across the business areas. The incumbent will utilize effective problem solving skills - sometimes involving multiple business areas. · Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university (preferably in Computer Science), or min. of 6 years related experience.
