Manager, Software Quality Assurance Description: With direction from the research and development director and input from the product manager, the Manager, Software Quality Assurance will develop manual and automated testing protocols to verify the functionality and performance of instrument control and data processing software for analytical instrumentation applications. This individual will work with the product development team to ensure the successful launch of high quality new software product designs and revisions to existing products. This role will include information gathering through interviews and research to produce QA deliverables. The individual in this role will produce test strategies, test protocols and documented results to provide valuable feedback and assessment of quality and fit-for-purpose of products. They will participate in project planning in terms of schedules, work estimates, test plans and other duties as assigned. This qualified candidate will work on cross functional teams to resolve issues reported by customer and field service engineers in shipping software products. They will be involved with departmental and personal quality and training programs as well We require a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a pertinent field (Computer Science, Physical Sciences, or Engineering). We also require 5 years management experience with 7 years of experience in commercial software testing, a related field or the equivalent in related course work. We require good written and verbal communication skills. The individual in this role must have the ability to quickly learn and operate scientific instrumentation, provide accurate estimates of software QA tasks and have the ability to generate test plans. They must have working knowledge of various MS Windows operating systems and current computer technologies as well as working knowledge of automated testing tools or industry standard programming or scripting languages.
