SW Test Engineer II Requirements/Qualifications (Education) : Experience: ? BE/BTech/MS/ MTech in EE, CE or CS degree with 5 to 7 years of experience of firmware testing or development experience. ? Solid working knowledge of Linux and Windows is required, Solaris knowledge is a plus. ? Good knowledge of test process and methodology is required. ? Good working knowledge on defect tracking tools (Clearquest). ? Working knowledge of automation framework & scripting using Perl is desirable. ? Must be self-motivated, apply good judgment, be a strong self-driven learner, learn new technologies quickly, and able to mentor others. ? Good written and verbal communication skills are required; experience working with customers is a plus. ? Must have a proven ability to complete projects on time and with a high quality outcome. Job Description : Responsibilities: ? Test the SAS Controller & expander FW with emphasis on low level firmware testing. ? Must ensure test plans are executed efficiently and effectively to committed schedules and high quality goals. ? Assist in defining test strategies and new test tools for current and next generation expander products by fully understanding requirements and working closely with development and customers during the early states of the product development. ? Must research and implement new, innovative ways of providing quality- tested code to customers. ? Communicate test requirements, status, and issues via internal issue tracking system, e-mail, conf-calls, and presentations to internal and external customers. ? Assist in low level debug of problems found during test and help drive them to resolution, with a mindset of continually driving the entire test team’s technical knowledge and capabilities. ? Technical guidance for the team of test engineers and should be seen as a “component owner”. Focal point of technical contact for the assigned components. ? Review the dev & test artifacts and provide the suggestions for improvements. ? Debug the issues/defects found during the test execution fully & isolate the setup issues, test case issues etc. Coordinate and drive the defects to closure. ? Own/contribute Test strategy development & planning. ? Contribute for process improvement. ? Tracking the progress and metrics. ? In addition to identifying test requirements, the engineer will be responsible for providing technical direction to teams of software test engineers.
