Senior Software Test Manager B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and/or Computer Engineering with 13+ years overall experience and 5+ years experience as a manager. Experience in managing engineers is required. Storage Test experience (SAS/SATA/SCSI/FC protocols, RAID stack, embedded processors) is highly desired. Thorough knowledge of complete software development life cycle is required. Must be self- motivated, be able to mentor others, and have good communication skills. Must have a proven ability to independently balance multiple incoming requests. Must have a history of meeting aggressive deadlines in time-critical environments, while delivering high quality results. Experience with commercial project planning, test planning, and test management tools is desirable. Experience in working with US development and test teams is highly desired. Job Description : The SW/FW Test Manager is responsible for leading a team of 20-30 test engineers, multiple contractors, and 1 test manager in Bangalore. This senior manager will be responsible for the India test efforts for the Storage Components Division (SCD). This India test team works with the US test teams to validate storage drivers, utilities, and firmware for SAS/SATA storage technologies. The Test Manager must ensure test plans are clearly defined to validate software/firmware features in both standard and customer-specific environments. After working closely with internal groups & customers to fully understand requirements, the Test Manager must ensure test plans fully validate requirements. The Test Manager will oversee execution of test plans to ensure that they are executed efficiently & effectively to meet committed schedule and quality goals. Communication with internal groups and customers on test status, schedules, and issues will be required. The Test Manager must continually drive the team to implement new, innovative ways of testing storage software/firmware and drive internal process improvements. This job requires hands-on involvement in technical decisions. The Manager will be responsible for hiring and ensuring consistent, measurable technical and productivity growth within the team. This manager will need to establish processes to optimize communication channels for multi-location (including US) test efforts. Occasional travel to the US and customer sites will be required. This manager will work closely with the US test managers to establish overall metrics and goals for the entire SCD test organization and will need to closely track the teams against these goals. Flexible time schedule, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of the software / firmware deliverables will be critical.
