Software QA Manager Software Quality Assurance engineers are expected to work closely with design engineers as part of the software development team. Their activities include the performance of technical reviews of software design and code, review of supporting documentation, facilitation and participation in peer reviews, review of testing, metrics collection and reporting. The Software Quality Assurance Manager must be capable of creating and maintaining a Software Quality Assurance program for implementation across a wide range of software projects over all of Aircraft Group facilities. This will include the oversight and management of Software development activities at subcontractors, including those that supply software and those that embed it in a shipable end item. The Software Quality Assurance Manager is expected to possess the technical knowledge required to train and direct his/her subordinates in all aspects of Software Quality Assurance. The incumbent will also provide guidance pertaining to optimal software development practices and customer expectations to other organizational elements to assure incorporation of quality attributes into software activities.
