SQA Engineer Qualifications: Ø Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace or Software Engineering. Ø Experience: o 2-4 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and testing in a commercial product development environment on PC/Windows technology. o 1-2 years experience testing electro-mechanical devices and software applications. o Preferred experience also includes C/C++ programming or Java, Object Oriented Analysis and Design knowledge, real-time programming (i.e. VxWorks), database (i.e. MS SQL Server or Oracle), VB Scripting and Java Scripting, and Windows environment. o Proficient with PC programs such as MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio. o Knowledge of UML, Rational Suite tools, XML, TCP/IP, UNIX, Serial and GPIB communication protocols. o In depth knowledge and experience in one or more of these fields: Electro-mechanical machine automation, motion control and I/O, pneumatics, thermal, vision, and/or communication interfaces. o SQA tester, CSTE certification or similar. Ø Skills/Technical Requirements: Creative, detailed oriented, and excellent problem solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to prepare and write formal, technical reports. Able to work independently as well as in teams in a fast pace environment. Capable to adapt to changes and adjust testing strategy as needed. Has ability to optimize testing tasks and suggest solutions to meet scheduled commitments. Excellent understanding of Software Testing principles and methodologies and Software Development Cycle. Breadth of experience in developing test cases, test procedures, test scripts, test reports and doing the hands-on implementation of those plans. Excellent understanding of electro-mechanical systems and interaction between software and hardware to be controlled. Able to work on multiple projects and provide back-up support to other SQA engineers.
