Job Summary:
Installation, maintenance and administration of the WinNT, Linux, and VMware Operating Systems, related system components including Active Directory, and third party software products. Administration includes configuration, security, resource monitoring, troubleshooting, backup/recovery procedures, capacity planning, performance tuning, security administration, disaster recovery procedures. Major Responsibilities/Activities in order of importance the essential functions of the job: * WinNT Operating Systems * Active Directory * VMWare Operating Systems * SuSE Linux Operating Systems * Third Party Software Support * Hardware Evaluation and Tuning * Capacity Planning * System Security * Documentation * Backup/Recovery * Disaster Recovery Planning/Testing Basic Qualifications: * Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience * Minimum five years of experience as an Intel based server administrator * Extensive knowledge of Intel based server architecture and Active Directory * Direct installation, upgrade, and maintenance experience with WinNT, SuSe Linux, and VMware * Knowledge of WinNT, Linux and VMware OS * Experience installing WinNT, SuSE Linux, and VMware OS * Knowledge of backup and restore utilities * Knowledge of server security procedures * Familiar with EMC DASD including BCV's Candidates must be U.S. citizens or have their Green Card.
