Client Software Quality Assurance Engineer Responsibilities: · Works with development engineers to understand and implement best practices designed to exercise and validate software functionality with reduced cycle times · Must work with rest of the QA organization to provide feedback on test approaches and test case coverage including but not limited to device functionality, stability, and performance aspects · Mentors and cross trains team members to ensure flexibility and contingency capability exist within the group · Writes, executes, tracks, and maintains test cases, scenarios, and environments. Automates tests where appropriate · Reports product defects and issues, then works with product team to ensure proper resolution of reported items · Helps to build group infrastructure and improve processes to assure quality in all customer facing deliverables · May administer or maintain systems designed to facilitate group initiatives such as automation, test case generation, test case tracking, etc. Qualifications: · BSCE, EE, Mathematics or equivalent experience · Wide exposure to software testing techniques and development methodologies · Experience testing mobile, web-connected consumer electronics devices · Extensive expertise with embedded Linux-based operating systems · Understanding of issues surrounding remote systems administration · Comfortable testing in development, emulation, prototype, pre-production, and production environments · Experience with and strong enthusiasm for entertainment and communications testing and technologies · Solid understanding of client-side presentation technology including browser-based, multimedia, and graphics programs · Extensive knowledge of audio, video, and image file formats, codecs, applications · Social networking savvy - Facebook, Twitter, etc. · Hands-on ability to setup, use, and troubleshoot home grown, open source, or commercially available automated testing tools and frameworks. (e.g. Selenium, HP/Mercury, Test Quest, etc.) · Experience with at least one programming or scripting language such as C++, Java, Perl, Python, shell scripting, etc. · Knowledge of web-based technologies including web services · Experience working with TCP/IP networking products and infrastructure components · Willingness to take on project responsibilities including projects that may initially lie beyond the individual's expertise, skill set, and experience Qualifications - Desired · Exposure to authentication and encryption protocols · Experience with server technologies ideally supporting mobile consumer electronics devices · Strong understanding of databases and SQL · Experience with Perforce, Jira · Setup and improvement of build delivery and acceptance with a goal of establishing a continuous integration environment Thank you, Team SQAFYI - Software QA Resource FYI http://sqa.fyicenter.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Software Quality Assurance Center" group.
