Project Engineer, Software Test Duties and Responsibilities Work with team leaders and senior engineers to establish and document product test requirements and performance goals. Plan, design, implement, and conduct cost-effective, comprehensive, regression and systems test evaluation test plans and test cases to ensure product requirements are met and report problems through formal bug tracking system. Stay abreast of industry SQA tools and best practices and apply to the development and deployment of new test technologies, tools or methods. Design, set up, configure, and maintain software testing labs, testing environments, and devices under test. Create real world test methods and environments to reproduce field problems for root cause analysis. May supervise less senior QA engineers and/or technicians. Education, Skills, Abilities, and Experience Required Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience, plus 6 years relevant SQA experience. Good knowledge of and experience with SQA industry tools and best practices. Minimum 4 years experience in designing and implementing regression and system test plans and test cases, using software test tools, scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, Ruby, and/or Python. Proven experience with standard bug reporting tools such as TK/GNATs, Bugzilla, Jira, or Test Director. Demonstrated experience and familiarity with video quality testing, computer networking, Windows, Linux. Methodical, detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to work independently to achieve goals. Great people skills, including the ability to collaborate successfully with team members from Engineering, Marketing, and Customer support. Ability to multitask , perform under pressure, and meet deadlines.
