Senior Software QA Engineer Guide and mentor junior level QA Engineers in Quality Assurance and Test methodologies Design, create, and implement component level test data and test cases or scripts, system level regression test procedures, automated test suites, and test reports. Contribute to the development of overall QA test philosophies and methodologies with an emphasis to improve overall effectiveness. Actively participate in ensuring proper execution of regression test procedures and automated test suites and scripts. Review and verify requirements and design specifications for validity in overall product design with an emphasis towards product testability and verification. Investigate software defects and problem reports to provide additional information in the report to aid defect fixing Participate in design, code and functional product reviews to facilitate white-box test design. Strong knowledge of testing methodologies combined with hands-on experience in test planning, test case and script development Practical experience with one or more testing tools such as WinRunner, VistaRunner, Quality Center, etc Strong knowledge of a formal development language syntax and logic Ability to write software defect reports. Identify and record the exact sequence of activities that were performed to produce software malfunctions Practical knowledge of one or more bug tracking applications.
