Manager of Quality Assurance

The Manager of Quality Assurance will create and maintain a high
commitment to quality, understand the project SDLC and work
proactively to assure that best practices of the industry are
maintained. • Hands-on leadership role includes all responsibilities
of Software Quality Assurance Manager, plus the following: • Hiring
outsource personnel • Prepare and present for vendor audits • Write
remediation plans and drive initiatives to satisfy vendor findings •
Write and review documentation used in testing and validation of
software. • Write and review test plans, validation plans,
traceability matrices, and test reports. • Train employees in the
execution of the quality program. • Interact with customers to
communicate needs, defects, etc to product team. • Work with quality
team to prioritize tasks to ensure successful and timely completion of
projects. • Develop and manage software test plans for validation
using the tools employed. • Develop, execute and record results from
test scripts. • Interact with bug tracking system to monitor fixes and
retests. • Interact with development and other testing teams to
clarify and resolve outstanding issues. • Perform software black-box,
ad-hoc, and regression testing. • Review testing and validation
documentation.

Experience

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in life sciences, Master’s or PhD.
preferred. • Minimum of 10 years of progressive managerial experience
within the quality function • Excellent verbal, written and
presentation skills and the ability to deal effectively with all
levels of management. • Excellent understanding of VM maintenance •
Ability to work with multiple time dependent deadlines and projects. •
Extensive Knowledge of Windows including Windows 7, XP and 2003
Server. • Extensive Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products • Prior
knowledge of database software (SQL/Oracle). • Prior knowledge of
Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS). • Experience and
extensive understanding of the software development process. •
Emphasis in developing, managing and executing test plans. • Emphasis
in defect tracking and resolution • Ability to work independently in a
dynamic team environment with little supervision • Knowledge of
Automated testing methodologies • Testing automation software (Quality
Center, QTP), a plus. • Relevant software industry experience
preferred. • Previous experience with vendor audits, a plus • Must be
innovative and creative and utilize all available resources • Able to
switch priorities plus manage more than one issue at a time • Working
knowledge of Linux, Solaris, Oracle and/or AIX • Knowledge of SQL
Server • Experience developing validation plans, IQ, OQ, and PQ
validation protocols • Willingness to mentor others • Ability to
define and track quality assurance metrics • Ability to lead in a
dynamic team environment
