Software Quality Engineer performs process reviews and product audits throughout the defined software development lifecycle • reviews program activities and conducts audits of software work products and documentation • verifies programs’ adherence to software development processes as defined in program plans • review and analysis of a sample of software code to ensure adherence to design and coding standards • identifies software work product deficiencies • provides management and engineering disciplines with visibility into program adherence to established plans, processes, and procedures • reviews and approves audited software work products upon modification • maintains software quality assurance program schedules • maintains quality assurance records and writes quality evaluation records • generates Quality Assurance Plan documentation to define quality activities specific to applicable program being worked on • records and tracks all SQA activities • utilizes corrective action process to ensure that software-related issues are documented and monitored to closure • familiarity with ISO-9001:2008 and the Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) • formulates quality procedures • computer background Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics, or practical experience in technical field is required. 2 - 5 years experience in the simulation or related industry. Technical areas of expertise must include: current software development methodologies and tools.
