Test Engineer Essential Duties *Translates complex business and engineering requirements to create test plans and execute them independently. *Responsible for analyzing test results and providing this analysis to upstream/downstream organizations. *Interfaces with internal and external organizations including vendors. *Writes method of procedure documents. *Drives and completes work in a collaborative environment, finds solutions independently, and provides value by acting as an owner of the project or initiative. *Provides technical support during activation, deployment, and maintenance activities. Education and Experience * Experience: 5+ yrs * Education Level: Bachelor's Degree * Field Of Study: Engineering or related field * A combination of education and experience is acceptable. Knowledge, Skills or Abilities *Understanding of call processing at a protocol level including PRI, CAS, SIP, RTP, RTCP, T.30 Fax, and SS7. *Experience in provisioning, troubleshooting, and upgrading Sonus Network Elements such as EMS, CRE, NFS, NBS, SGX, and GSX. *Experience building, maintaining, and using test equipment such as Tektronix Spectra, SIPp, Hammer, and PSXPerf. *Hands on experience with customer premise PBX/IAD equipment: one or more of: Avaya Communications Manager, Cisco Call Manager, Alcatel Omni, Nortel Communications Server, Siemens HiPath, Microsoft Office Communications Server. *Experience with enterprise softswitch voice equipment, including session border controllers, network servers, and application servers. *Strong Linux/Unix skills. *Strong scripting skills *Proven record of developing and executing test plans as well as ability to document and communicate test results to appropriate stakeholders. *Self motivated with the ability to work well independently and on a team. *Ability to work multiple efforts and projects in parallel. *Good troubleshooting skills and methodologies. *Ability to proactively identify risks/ issues, and drives action to mitigate/resolve them. *Ability to derive specific objectives and actions from vaguely defined problems Thank you, Team SQAFYI - Software QA Resource FYI http://sqa.fyicenter.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Software Quality Assurance Center" group.
