Test Engineer 1.Possesses knowledge and skills required to program specified computer systems and databases. 2.Ability to contribute to planning and scheduling of EFI&T activities – estimate and forecast test and acceptance requirements, assess resource requirements and timelines. 3.Ability to monitor installation and turn-up progress, provide regular reports to management. 4.Ability to prepare acceptance and test schedules, plans, and procedures for each FAA installation involved in the project. 5.Ability to establish “Acceptance Criteria” for each phase of test and acceptance. 6.Must have excellent organization skills, be very detail orientated, be able to work independently with little to no supervision and possess good judgment skills. 7.Provides test criteria, evaluation and feedback to the Solution Engineering Group. 8.Test, evaluates, reports, and makes recommendations to ensure the compliance with established criteria of the Network Monitoring and Control individual components and the system as a whole. 9.Specific and intimate knowledge of testing procedures and engineering of information system development projects using knowledge of networking and systems administration is required. 10.Participates in Solutions Engineering group to configure, test and certify solution for use within the National Airspace System. 11.Develop and validate equipment baselines for hardware and software. 12.Aid in the development of a repeatable process for image and device monitoring, control and troubleshooting. . 13.Monitor, remediate and report performance requirements and specifications. Degree/Education Requirements Bachelors Degree in an applicable field of study and seven (7) or more year or relevant experience OR Minimum of fifteen (15) or more years or relevant experience. Required Skills and Experience: Experience with industry-standard processes and procedures for component and system testing. Experience with Oracle/Sun Directory Services Domains. Experience with Sun Solaris 9/10 Operating Systems. Understanding and experience with the following network monitoring and control devices: a.Dell Servers b.Oracle/Sun servers c.Network Attached Storage d.Tape Drives e.Backup Software f.Cisco Routers g.Cisco Switches h.Power Reset Devices i.Serial-to-IP convertors Knowledge and experience with OEM Object Identifiers (OIDs) and Management Information Bases (MIBs). Familiarity and experience with Cisco devices and configurations (IOS). Experience with server maintenance, administration, and operating systems. Must be able to work under schedule and cost constrained conditions. Strong communications skills (written and verbal) required. Evening and weekend work may be required.
