QA Engineer support product development and project management activities from the proposal stage through product delivery and warranty service activities; interface with project engineers, division management, customer, suppliers, and contract representatives on quality-related issues; review solicitations and prepare proposals and cost estimates for satisfying quality systems requirements; recommend revisions of specifications when indicated; perform contract reviews; prepare project quality plans; review purchase requisitions and coordinate inspection, test monitoring and surveillance programs to verify compliance; may conduct training on quality assurance concepts and tools; participate in the review and disposition of nonconforming material and perform investigation and analysis to determine root cause, corrective action, and preventive action; design, install, and evaluate quality assurance process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques; communicate and coordinate daily with project and QA engineers, scientists, and management. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Requires a BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Reliability Engineering with 0-3 years experience. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Must be familiar with quality program standards such as ISO9001:2008, ISO 17025, AS9100, or ANSI/ASME NQA-1. Must have experience working as a contributor to a project team; as an intern in an electrical engineering capacity and in a production, manufacturing, fabrication, or research environment; some exposure to design and manufacturing; excellent communication skills. Must be proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software programs such as Microsoft Office products. Some familiarity working within a quality program; exposure to circuit analysis (i.e., worst case, parts stress, or timing analysis); familiarity with reliability or statistical processes; exposure to printed circuit board layout and design is a plus. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
