Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: ? Review product specifications and work with others to develop appropriate test strategies and detailed test plans ? Lead and participate in formal reviews of test plans, designs and requirements documents. ? Accurately predict the amount of effort required for projects and tasks. Develop plans and schedules based on these predictions. ? Design, implement and manage an automated suite of black-box and white-box test scripts ? Identify product issues and write detailed bug reports during the product development cycle ? Communicate and coordinate with peers and senior level individuals in cross-functional groups to articulate and compare alternative testing approaches. ? Review defects that escaped to the field to learn how they could have been prevented or detected. ? Participate in documentation reviews during product release cycle to ensure quality and comprehensive product documentation. ? Participate in monitoring of test execution across multiple code branches and multiple platforms. ? Utilize tools such as code coverage tools to assess the coverage of test suites and make recommendations for additional test cases. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: ? Strong Ability to work in fast-paced environment and ability to multitask with ease is essential to the success of this position ? Strong verbal and written communication skills ? Innovative, analytical approach to solving complex test problems. ? Track record of leading complex test projects in a hands-on way and mentoring others in test automation design and implementation ? Capable of understanding and documenting incidents. Effectively manage incident information and test status information to improve product and process. ? Excellent knowledge of QA methodology and Software development processes (Agile, SCRUM, RUP, IEEE, etc.) ? Extensive experience with various types of testing including unit, system, integration, user acceptance, regression, usability and end-to-end testing ? C, C++ and Object-oriented design and development concepts ? Extensive experience in one of the following scripting languages: PERL, Python, Ruby, VBScript or JavaScript and shell or windows BAT scripting ? SQL and Relational Databases ? Debugging and Crash Log Analysis/Review ? Automated load/stress and performance testing and tools ? Knowledge of basic Windows system administration and tools DESIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY: * B.S. or higher in Computer Science or a related Field. * 3+ years of commercial software test experience * 3+ years of scripting and/or programming experience.
