Quality Assurance Engineer He/she will develop, implement and maintain quality methods and records systems to assure compliance to in-house and external requirements and standards for the operation, support chemical/ material and supplier quality initiatives, and apply statistical methods to production data to identify trends and recommend actions. The successful candidate will also lead quality audits, improvement projects, training and communications for areas of responsibility. Job Responsibilities: • Implement and lead ongoing improvements of quality procedures • Define and assure compliance to operational quality assurance requirements, specifications and standards for components, materials and products based on customer requirements and performance needs for final product • Develop test methods and programs to qualify and monitor test equipment, including maintenance and calibration • Drive corrective and preventative actions, perform problem-solving through root cause analysis and quality tools, and lead quality improvement projects and teams • Perform internal and external quality audits, coordinate new material supplier qualifications and support ongoing supplier quality management • Represent quality on material review boards • Implement and perform statistical process control techniques for new and existing processes • Analyze quality data, prepare and interpret reports to provide recommendations and solutions, and manage quality records • Work closely with manufacturing, development, and other functional areas, as well as with suppliers and customers to deliver QD Vision quality objectives, including providing training and communications relating to quality procedures and initiatives Requirements Skill Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or chemical engineering, with 3+ years hands-on experience in chemical operation/laboratory and/or a wide breadth of analytical chemistry and materials testing experience • 2+ years direct experience in quality engineering or quality assurance • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or equivalent standards • Experience with quality audits. Experience with supplier quality assurance desired • Working knowledge and experience with statistical analysis, quality tools and experimental design. Six sigma certification desired • Experience investigating and successfully closing out corrective and preventive actions and resolution of non-conforming materials • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) are essential, as well as ability to organize documentation and maintain clear, accurate records • Strong interpersonal skills; detail-oriented team player • Excellent computer skills – facile in Microsoft office.
