Quality Engineer - SQA Software Quality Assurance Engineer to work on a variety of reconnaissance systems projects. Responsibilities include: establishing requirements from existing documentation, developing project software quality plans, and test plans to cover requirements, develop new and upgrade existing test cases; upgrade the current test environment to incorporate more automated test tools and methods; establish a frame work for documenting software testing progress and coverage. The selected individual will interface with Systems, Hardware, and Software Engineers, to accomplish efficient, robust and complete software quality coverage for the software that runs on these systems, conduct customer witnessed Factory Acceptance Tests, and travel to customer sites as needed.- Develop SQA plans, test plans and test cases according to requirements .. - Develop automated test methods (10%). The ideal candidate will have the following experience set for this position: - One to Eight years of work experience in software quality assurance. - Develop and execute test plans and test cases to verify requirements. - Create test reports - Coding proficiency in a variety of languages, e.g. sh, tcl, perl, java, C, to accomplish test coverage and automation. - Develop automated test methods. - Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. - Ability to effectively interact with the customer. - Testing VxWorks and Mercury based systems. - Familiarity with complex, VME- based, real-time systems. - Familiarity working with Unix operating systems. - Independently specifying, designing, scheduling and completing tasks in a timely manner. - - Demonstrate proficiency in the Software Development Life Cycle and application of QA theory and principles. - Willingness to travel: Travel required: up to 50% as needed.
