There is an error during the conversion. I'm able to convert the image
on a rhel7 system without error:

[localhost ~]$ qemu-img convert -f qcow2 -O vmdk
softwarefactory-C7.0-2.2.4.img.qcow2 softwarefactory-C7.0.vmdk
[localhost ~]$
Can you try to do the conversion with another version of qemu-img ?
