Hello,

Sprint taskboard:
https://tree.taiga.io/project/morucci-software-factory/taskboard/2017-40

Here is a summary of what the team did from September 25 to October 5.

Regarding Software Factory:
- We enabled the hypervisor-oci role by default to provide ready to
use slave without the need of openstack or static node
- We continued the integration of zuulv3 to support a v3 only
deployement with the config-update job converted to a ansible playbook
- We upgraded RDO requirements from Newton to Pike

Regarding RDO:
- We upgraded Zuul twice to support the new gerrit version used by
review.openstack.org and the label case sensitive bugs.
- We are still working with the RDO Cloud team to fix the I/O
performance issues. We have moved some CI jobs to SSD-backed VMs, and
this has alleviated the situation.
- We are adapting to the upstream Zuul v3 change. Packstack is on its
way to have in-repo Zuul v3 jobs.
- We spent a lot of time troubleshooting the Zuul v3 migrated TripleO
jobs in order to bring back the CI online
- We troubleshooted issues related to image pruning on the RDO
registry and confirmed a bug with upstream (Bugzilla pending)
- We had discussions around what it takes to be a RDO 'config' repo
core and considered the nomination of additional cores from the
TripleO CI team

Regarding openstack-infra:
- We did a partial rolled back from Zuul v3 to Zuul v2 in order to
unblock projects that would not work with legacy jobs in a timely
manner

- Different improvements to improve Zuul v3 support in external tools
(Grafana, elastic-recheck)
- Help the community migrate to Zuul v3 and troubleshoot jobs

Regarding DLRN:
- DLRN is now officially packaged in Fedora!
- We are cleaning up the Fedora Rawhide DLRN instance. The most
important issues have been identified and are being fixed, and now
we're down to < 70 packages failing to build, from a > 180 number when
the effort was started.
- We have created a test instance for the DLRN API, so it is easier to
integrate new patches using it.

Regarding ARA:
- Added support for Ansible 2.4 in ARA
- Fixed an issue with Ansible 2.4 backwards compatibility upstream:
https://github.com/ansible/ansible/pull/31200
- Rebased/synchronized master and feature/1.0 branches as they had diverged

Regarding RepoXplorer:
- Proposed repoXplorer of rhos-dev as a metric tool for OpenStack DFG
w/o so much reaction
- Added a quickstart script to run repoXplorer w/o root access need.
.cache/repoxplorer self-contained installation
https://github.com/morucci/repoxplorer#quickstart-script

Regarding other things:
- We are testing taiga.io as a replacement for storyboard as an issue
tracker and project manager. We've experimented with integration a
bit:

    * we wrote a story importer from storyboard to taiga.

    * we are testing a service that updates taiga items based on
gerrit events, using the firehose. This could be extended to support
any REST-friendly issue tracker or service.

    * we looked into issue synchronization with github, so that RDOPKG
issues appear in our backlog in taiga.

    * we also played with taiga's CSV export for reporting.

- The Software Factory Mojo group is now extended to act as the DFG's
internal knowledge base:
https://mojo.redhat.com/groups/software-factory
- ci.centos.org cloud is being reinstalled to RDO Pike (from Newton)

Next public review will happen Thursday Oct 19 at 13:00 UTC, feel free
to join us on #softwarefactory for the event details.
