Here is a first-pass attempt at capturing a feature by feature comparison of popular tunneling mechanisms. If there are mechanisms I have missed, please let me know and send Y/N values for the various features. If you see features missing that should be included in the comparison, let me know. If you see feature descriptions you do not agree with, please provide some of your own.
