In response to all the questions about oil pressure gauges, There are a couple of ways that I have put oil pressure gauges on a 750. One is the production kit to place the guage on the right side of the engine at the oil gallery. A low buck way is to drill and tap the standard plug for 1/8- 27 tapered pipe female thread, then use a brass street ell and a 1- 1/2 inch face diameter guage with a back mount 1/8 male thread. The guage angle can be adjusted by how deep you tap the female hole, since it's tapered. Ashcroft makes these guages with a chrome plated shell. Probably can be found in McMaster-Carr
Another way is to remove the oil pressure sending unit as someone suggested, and add a tee into the system at this point. Technically, if I remember correctly, the threads between National Pipe Tapered and the Japaneese thread is only one thread pitch per inch. This has never presented any problem to me in mixing these two systems of thread, and I've done it quite often. It seals nicely, and even allows retrofit if you change your mind later. A line is then run to a convenient location for the guage. I make a plate out of stainless steel sheet (polishes to a chrome finish) to mount the guage to the two forward handlebar clamp bolts, placing it somewhat up from and between the speedo and tach. Here I use a standard automotive oil pressure guage to mount into my bracket. Another feeder method is to run this remote oil line from the end of the oil gallery at the right side of the engine, but this method may not provide the oil line protection some may prefer. Maybe this info will help others in their projects.
