One more thing on this discussion. The listserver does not send attachments out with list mail. The Sobig *.pif attachmetns would, if anything, be included as ASCII versions of the MIME content, as we normally see on the list. Because the emails from the list have a MIME type of "text/plain", mail readers aren't susceptible to the *.pif files as virii.
That said, I recommend anyone running a 32-bit MS operating system to use a virus detection/removal program. Norton/Symantec has intercepted dozens of them on my Win2K machine just since July. My LINUX box has yet (fingers crossed) to see a virus. Cheers, Carlos
