I recently took a nice long weekend trip on my '75 CB550K.

Thanks, big thanks, must go to a fellow lister, Big Bob, for
orgainzing the event here in the Chicago area.

I'm curious as to what kind of gas mileage others get with their
CB550s. My bike is stock, stock sprockets, with a Kerker-style 4
into 1 pipe. I weigh 150 lbs, and carried/wore clothing/gear
weighing about 35-40 lbs total. The bike doesn't seem to be running
excessively rich, and runs well, easily starting when hot/warm on the
first kick.

Overall, I totaled 513.7 miles, using 19.26 gallons of gas (according
to the gas pumps) and got 26.67 miles per gallon.

On the beginning, I went about 68 miles into a strong headwind doing
about 60 mph with no excess stops or traffic, and filled up with 3.1
gallons. Later that weekend I went another 68.2 miles before I hit
reserve, and filled up with 2.7 gallons.

Any comments? I have two four-cylinder cars that get better mileage,
one carbed, one injected.

Thanks!
