The color for the '76 cb750f sidecover is indeed a dark gray metalic and not "black". I have two of these bikes, and the sidecover color matches, so I know they were not repainted. regards, Steve F.

Both the 77 and 78 CB750 F has side covers that were matched to the Tank. The colors available for these two years are (1) Candy Presto Red and (2) Black. The side covers for the 75 CB750F are listed as black. And, I assume the 76 model side covers are black since there is no comment in the book for a change. I know the 77 and 78 Side covers are interchangeable for physical fit if not decoration. Bruce once sent me a cover for a 76 or 75 CB750F ( I forget which) to try and make a mold from it. Anyway, I noticed that it was physically the same as the ones I have for my 77 and 78 models. The color for this was "Black". But, it looked more to me like a dark grey. Perhaps it was faded. But, it certainly didn't match the 77 and 78 CB750 black side covers I saw in the Honda shop when they sent me that color by mistake. Incidently, if you want to keep from cracking and/or losing side covers, then keep the grommets that hold them pliable and resilient by renewall. These normally harden with age and atmospheric exposure.
