First, let me appologize for the long silence on the SOHC4 mailing list. A few weeks ago, I moved my internet connection off the long suffering 33.6 dialup link and onto a higher bandwidth wireless link.
Unfortunately, immediately after I moved onto this link, a denial-of-service attack was launched against my main server. The newly increased bandwidth meant that my server had to deal with a much higher load than during any previous attack and the 12 year old Sun server didn't gracefully weather the storm. The onboard SCSI controller burnt out which ruined the motherboard. Since the server was down anyway, I took the past two weeks to change a number of things on my home network including updating my firewall, getting two new(er) Sun servers, updating the operating systems to something released this decade and otherwise trying to avoid a re-occurance of this type of failure. If I did all this right, the mailing lists hosted on dorje should contiune to operate for another 10 years without a major failure (this is the first time in 10 years that dorje.com has been down longer than the 48 hours a mail server will usually queue mail...). There are still a few more things I want to update but those I can do as I purchase the equipment. As always, if there are any questions, feel free to contact me via email at "[EMAIL PROTECTED]". -- Think Peace. - Alan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) http://www.dorje.com/~alanf/ KotBBBB (1988 GSXR1100J) RaceBike (FT500) DOD# 4210 PGP key available
