I can't see the picture, as my ISP is acting up on me again, but let me
take a crack anyway.
When you say that the speedo is set some how when the "B" light is lit,
do you mean that if you were doing, say, 60, and hit the switch, then
the needle would say
60 until you shut it off, no matter your speed? I don't know how the
laws on speed enforcement are over there, but maybe that is some kind of
speed detection system.
I.e, the officer would pace a car from a discreet distance at the
illegal speed, hit the "B" switch to record the speed, then pull over
the offender, showing what he was clocked at, then write the ticket.
Here in Virginia, the police car's speedos are calibrated and certified
so they can be used in court if need be.
I once was paced at 79 in a 55 by a VERY unmarked Chevy
Camaro. The trooper commented that my speedo was almost ten miles off as
he could read those HUGE Honda clocks from 10 feet behind and to the
left of me!
