Bruce:

  I'm running GT501s on my CB750K4. I also run a pair on my VF500 Interceptor. I
generally agree with the review; they're pretty good tires. But when I wear out this
pair, I will likely go back to Michelins.

I'd previously run Michelin Macadam 50s on both bikes. I think the Michelin dry
traction is almost as good as the GT501s. I never drag parts of the CB750, although
I've had the footpeg touch down on occasion, but I have had the VF500 scraping sides
in some of the West Virginia mountain roads. On the Michelins I'd occasionally gotten
the rear end to break loose if I got on the gas too quickly exiting a corner; with the
GT501s the bike is more likely to grip well enough that it doesn't slide at all, but
it will lift the front tire on an exit.

But wet traction was far superior on the Michelins. And since I commute on the VF500,
I ride it in all sorts of weather. Wet, dry, hot, cold, etc. If you're riding your
CB in only good weather, the GT501s are a great recommendation. But if you have it on
wet roads occasionally, the Michelins would be my recommendation. In particular, cold
and wet pavement makes the GTs slide and not brake well.
